How God became English: The making of the King James Bible

How God became English: The making of the King James BibleThe Department of Museums, Archives & Rare Books at Kennesaw State University invites you to join us in celebrating the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible. The exhibit, “How God Became English: The making of the King James Bible,” opens October 4, 2011, in the Athenaeum Gallery, which is located on the second floor of the Horace W. Sturgis Library.

Examine rare artifacts, engage with multimedia interactive exhibits, and explore the creation of one of the most influential books in history. Both self-guided and docent-led (upon reservation) tours are available.

The Department of Museums, Archives & Rare Books is one of 40 sites chosen to host the traveling exhibit, “Manifold greatness: The creation and afterlife of the King James Bible,” which was organized by the Folger Shakespeare Library and the American Library Association’s Public Programs Office. The traveling exhibit will be housed in the Athenaeum Gallery through October 28, 2011.
